Next Opening in Fall 2021!
Product Classroom is an online classroom and friendly Slack community for students who are self-learning product design.
Members are part of small groups that hold each other accountable and work through a design curriculum together throughout the semester, along with guest lectures from industry product designers!
We're trying to make learning product design more accessible to students from all backgrounds and majors.
In our 11-week curriculum, students work on an individual case study that covers the design process from problem finding to high-fidelity prototyping.
Introduction! Students will get a chance to talk to their peers as well as get their first introduction to the world of UX design through talks with past alumns and current designers in the industry.
Basic Tools! This week will be all about Figma. Students will learn the basic tools used to design on Figma as well as work on a small assignment in groups.
Advanced Tools! This week will be all about Figma. Students learn the more advanced tools on Figma like prototyping and animation.
User Research! Students will be given a prompt to begin their UX project and learn about some basic user research skills to help them ideate.
Ideation! This week, students will take the research that they compiled analyze them to general key problem insights and opportunities as well as begin developing the flow of their app.
This week, students will begin designing their apps and learning how to sketch their ideas on paper.
Introducing our mentors and lecturers that will be advising Product Classroom to build a community for students to support each other’s learning.

If you don’t want to be placed in a group but you still want to be part of Product Classroom and work on our assignments in your own time/schedule, that’s okay too! You don’t need to fill out the form.
You will be a product classmate of the year you participated (ie. fall 2020). Since we are not application based + not a full fellowship, we would prefer if students didn’t use the term fellow.
We’ll upload them at the end of the week and they’ll all be located in your designated Google drive folder.
We will mainly be using Figma for design exercises, ideation and execution. If you currently don’t have Figma, don’t worry! It will be free for students and classmates during the 10 weeks of our program.
